I’ve got 3 days left in my apartment before I put some select belongings in storage, and move in with my parents (hi Dad!).
Check out the video for a final shot of my bachelor pad.

Hey Dave!
I just found you site and I am SO excited to get to follow your journey around the world. How long do you plan on being gone? I have always dreamed of that kind of a trip but alas I have a family to care for so we just do ‘family’ type vacations.
Looking forward to living vicariously…

Welcome Kango – I’m glad you’ll be along for the ride! I tried to save enough to last me 12-16 months. I’m sure some people could do more than that with the same money, however I want to hit some of the western European countries, along with Brazil and the western USA. :)
Are you planning to be in CA? Kango and (occasionally) myself are based in CA and I know a lot of cool non-touristy things to do as well as how/when to do the standard touristy things so they are cheaper/less busy. Besides, if I’m to live vicariously I figure I owe ya!

I do intend to spend some time in California/west coast/Rockies at the end of my trip, which would hopefully be early 2009! It’s hard for me to even fathom being gone so long, and what will happen between now and then, however I certainly hope to take advantage of any kind offers such as yours. :)

Dave, I’ve never enjoyed watching a video about someone else moving so much. It’s so easy to live vicariously through all of the steps leading up to your trip. It seems like not that long ago your trip countdown was around 100 days. Now – just a month away!
Thanks Mike – it’s exciting to me, so I’m glad that comes across! You’ll get to experience the same thing soon enough, and I’ll be around to cheer you on. I’m curious to hear more about your plans…especially the drive to Alaska!
