Hostel Life in Auckland

Before I start to write about my adventures on the STRAY backpacker bus, I wanted to share a clip from my first few minutes at a hostel in Auckland. I’m sure all my fellow backpackers can relate!

I now opt for the smaller dorm sizes when possible, mostly because it means a better sleep. The mess I can *sort of* handle. ;)

Hmm, I know you have a rivalry with the Aussies, however I hope you can live with that one because I’m not sure I know how to fix it :(

I was in ACB too. This place is funny!

I met there lots of backpackers and it was fun.

I am using a good website when Iam looking for hostels. This is their page for Auckland:

Have fun!

Great vid! I’ve been in a bunch of hostels, but that’s pretty bad. The sign though, makes it all worthwhile  ….

ACB eh? I stayed there when I first arrived in Auckland. I found the rooms cramped and I thought the hostel was way too big. Actually, I hated it and I’m not normally that fussy about where I sleep…
In the end I stayed at the Fat Camel hostel at the end of Queen Street (well Fort street to be precise). If you go back to Auckland stay there because the staff are much friendlier and so are the people who stay there.
