And I stayed at a hostel in San Francisco once- there were a few other Americans from the east coast like me. To be fair though, the US hasn't really figured out the entire hostel thing half as well as our friends in countries abroad. It was my 1st time there and I didn't have much intention of staying in my room while on the trip, except to crash and shower.
