Amongst all the amazing moments on my trip, there were certain experiences which simply left me in awe.  A pain in my left knee had me thinking twice about an extended hike on New Zealand’s Franz Joseph Glacier.  I opted for a shorter hike higher up on the glacier, courtesy of my first ever helicopter ride!

I haven’t seen these glaciers, however, I was in alaska and the enormity of these ice tongues (that’s what they called them there) was insane!
