Pit stop on Fraser Island

Fraser Island, the world’s largest island composed of sand, is a must see for even the most budget-conscious backpackers in Australia.  A lumbering 4×4, thousands of really big spiders, wild dingos, a swim in beautiful freshwater Lake McKenzie, a pool tournament, and a 1,000 year old fern within the only rainforest in the world to grow out of sand.  Despite the heaps of rain, it was a blast!
