Traveler -

Karl is referring to the city of Cali in Colombia (not California), and he has a good point. ;)

I was out at a salsa club tonight and met a Puerto Rican guy. When I stated Puerto Rico was the salsa capital, he said "no, it's Cali."

The funny thing is he doesn't like to dance with the Colombian women because their style is so different from what he's use to. But when I saw him dance with one of the "house" (professional) dancers who could follow his lead, he clearly had a lot of skill.

Karl - I beg to differ!! I've been dancing in both LA and San Fran (and Puerto Rico) and nothing compares to NYC. :-) Unless you're talking about a style difference between east coast and west coast salsa, there's no beating the New York scene!

Sorry Traveler.

You are wrong because Cali is known as the world capital of salsa.

I invite you to know first...

Thanks for the encouragement! I've heard NYC is a top spot for salsa, which is another reason I need to find a job there. :)

OMG - Please delete, and replace with this!! SORRY!

Hey Dave!
If you’re interested in dancing salsa once you get back to the States, pop me an email – the style is very different than it is in Colombia but there’s a bigger scene than you can imagine. NYC is salsa mecca, second in the world only to Puerto Rico. You’ll continue to get your fix once you’re home, I promise!

Sounds like you had a great night at the Colombian finca. Thanks for all the pictures and details, It'd be nice to visit Colombia one-day; I doubt I'll ever get an invite to a finca.
