Amazing!!! What an incredible journey…most people are scared to Couchsurf in their own country, let alone on the other side of the world in a very foreign culture like yourself. You are so brave and adventurous. LOVE IT! :)

I'm a big couchsurfing proponent, so one of our new contributors, Andi, is going to begin a weekly column relaying her experiences. I've always had a great time, and like you probably experienced with your host family, it's a great way to see a foreign country from the locals' perspective.

I've never couch surfed in a foreign country, but I did live with a host family for 8 weeks in Kenya. It was an awesome experience. My homestay brother is one of my best friends to this day.
