When I was posting the photo, they suddenly seemed more appetizing! But I saw them being sold at a super popular temple in Tokyo, and wasn’t about to walk around eating a banana on a stick. :)

We have a strange obsession with food on a stick – seen a lot of them, even chocolate male members in San Francisco – but, you’re right, these are quite, um, unique. Love the jaunty little bowties! – David & Veronica
