After enjoying a delicious brunch in Parque Kennedy this past Sunday afternoon, I happened across the opening ceremonies of the 2012 ISA World Stand Up Paddle and Paddleboard Championship.
It turns out Peru is hosting the inaugural competition on the beaches of Miraflores in Lima. The ceremony was being held outdoors on Avenida Larco.
The official events and competition run from February 19 – 25, and feature 140 surfers from teams around the world, including: Peru, the United States, Brazil, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain (pictured above), South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
